One Step at a Time
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
How do you make a lifestyle change? One step at a time.
When we decide that we are going to lose weight, we begin to think of all of the things we need to do in order to reach our goals.
Eat better.
Consume fewer calories.
Drink more water.
Exercise.
Where many of us run into trouble is in trying to tackle all of these all at once.
We can go full force and keep our momentum for about a week, maybe two, and then we begin to experience burnout.
We start choosing sandwiches over salads. We stop counting our calories. We drink less water and more coffee (guilty!). We drop the exercise.
How are we supposed to be successful on our journey to weight loss?
We need to tackle one thing at a time and work exclusively on that for a week or two. Once we develop a habit in one area, we can then work on a new area until it becomes a habit as well.
My area to tackle for the next two weeks is going to be water intake. What will you tackle this week?
